Our ambition with Aviendo Fairy Tales is to create quality time between children and parents. The collection connects children and adults through timeless and elegant Danish design, high quality materials, and with a retelling of known and loved fairy tales.
Aviendo lives to enrich and inspire, always! This is why we created Aviendo Fairy Tales - inspired by Danish design and tradition, and designed to spark the hearts and minds of young children, their
parents, and grandparents, everywhere. Rooted in Danish culture, heritage, and our classic design tradition.
Aviendo is built on core values like quality, aesthetics, creativity and great craftsmanship. Our goal is to create products that contribute to the perception that we all have a shared responsibility for a common future.
Hans Christian Andersen
Hans Christian Andersen (1805-1875) was a world-renowned Danish author. Although a prolific writer of plays, travelogues, novels, and poems, Andersen is best remembered for his fairy tales.
Because of the everlasting wisdom and moral contained in his fairy tales, Aviendo Fairy Tales promotes the work of Hans Christian Andersen, combined with contemporary Danish design and in a modern context.
The Products – The Ugly Duckling and the Nightingale
The Aviendo Fairy Tales collection is much more than design or books. It is stories with deep roots in Danish culture, combined with traditional Scandinavian wood crafting and contemporary design. The Ugly Duckling and the Nightingale are timeless tales that have been and will continue to be adored by generations all over the world. They are tales told and retold in families everywhere, as one of the most recognizable journeys to inner strength and beauty.
The Ugly Duckling and The Nightingale combine Danish elegance, functionality, and quality in design with the fairy tale world. Anatomically they both consist of three parts, made of environmentally friendly rubberwood, BPA-free silicone and respectively blasted brass and stainless steel.
The Duckling’s changeable and simple design makes the figure assume an infinite number of expressions by simply moving the body or twist the beak.
The Nightingale, through its innovative design and combination of materials, also serves as a flute.
The Tinderbox will be with you soon!

“Apart from the deliverance of H. C. Andersen’s morals, I hope that this project will make parents spend more time with their children. It is also the intention to challenge children’s sense of imagination by making different moods/expressions with the duckling, as well to make children feel and explore the different material properties (rubber, brass, and wood) while playing.”
